Appellant was convicted of the aggravated offense of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. V.T.C.A. Health and Safety code, 481.112(d)(3). The jury assessed his punishment, enhanced with a prior drug conviction, at life in prison and a $500,000 fine. V.T.C.A. Health and Safety Code, 481.107(d). The Fourteenth court of Appeals reversed appellants conviction, holding that trial counsel was ineffective in failing to interpose a challenge for cause against a venireman who plainly and unambiguously declared he could not be a fair and impartial juror, and who eventually sat on appellants jury.
